As we all are aware I’m sure, it were Halloween on Saturday! I felt it only right that I commemorate the occasion with a blog post. I hope you had an amazing and safe night, wherever your evening took you. This year is the first that I actually decided to do something with my make-up therefore were feeling rather excited about the fact. I’ll pop some pictures below, I went to my friend’s Halloween party at her house and all in attendance had a fantastic evening. I did re-use a costume that I’ve had for a few years now (dead schoolgirl), hence why I absolutely NEEDED to do something different make-up wise, I found inspiration in a Shannon Harris tutorial, (https://www.youtube.com/user/shaaanxo) deciding to go for the stitched up mouth look! I felt that I wouldn’t look quite as dead as I wanted therefore also did some extra contouring.
There’s barely anything to really say here, I went on a spontaneous shopping trip today with a good friend, I had decided that I wanted to pick up a few little bits for Halloween but of course, I just HAD to spend more, failing to get everything that I went out for primarily. I’m rather excited about the purchases I made, therefore without further ado, let’s begin..
As I’m sure everyone is aware by now (if not, then you’re probably arriving late for work and appointments tehehe) the clocks have changed, meaning that us Brits have gone back to GMT from BST, reminding us of the fact that we’re back in the Autumn and Winter months. Days will grow colder and shorter and for many their moods will wilt along with nature. It doesn’t have to be seen as a negative, however! With Autumn comes some fantastic annual holidays such as Halloween and Christmas, full of love, togetherness and cheer. Lots of good grub, crackling fires, seasonal drinks, conkers, crunchy leaves and a different view of the enchanting nature around us are now in abundance. It can be easy to want to stay wrapped up in our covers and let the world pass by around us but if you get nicely wrapped up, then the world outside of our bedroom is just as enticing. During an often mundane Monday I have today been embarking on a few simple yet uplifting projects to kickstart my motivation and brighten my surroundings.
Yesterday evening (Wednesday) I had a wonderful time going for a carvery meal in celebration of a friend’s Birthday. We all went to the Toby Carvery in Horsforth which has delightful food and a lovely atmosphere complete with friendly and attentive staff. I have already been receiving questions on various social media profiles asking where I got different things I were wearing or asking what make-up I used, therefore I thought I’d make a nice little post about just that!
Are you aware of the Animal Welfare Act? This doesn’t just cater for dogs and cats, it actually includes equine animals and rabbits and it’s not there only for when the damage has been done to an animal but it’s actual purpose is to prevent animal suffering of any type. “Section 9 of the Animal Welfare Act places a duty of care on people to ensure they take reasonable steps in all the circumstances to meet the welfare needs of their animals to the extent required by good practice.” (http://www.rspca.org.uk/whatwedo/changingthelaw/whatwechanged/animalwelfareact 19/10/2015) Every pet owner is obliged to follow this and it’s also inclusive of anybody with domestic animals, such as farms or animal breeders. I may have started off on a serious note here but it’s of incredible importance to be aware of!
Okay so what’s the deal with these new shopping apps for the Iphone and Android lately? Apps such as Wish, Cute, Home and Geek etc are abundant on social media right now. If you’ve somehow managed to not stumble into one of these just yet and have no idea what I’m talking about then let me summarise. These are all free download phone applications in which you can use to shop until your heart is content, they boast incredibly cheap prices on a range of items ranging from cosmetics, wigs and fashion through to technology and homeware. Are they as fantastic or as safe as they make out however, are the retailers on there simply con artists or legitimate businesses?
The Fault In Our Stars, a 313 page book of genius written by award-winning John Green and published by Penguin, now a major motion picture. In these deeply thought-provoking and heart wrenching pages of unarguable brilliance, we meet a group of young people living with cancer, some curable and some terminal. Hazel is content enough to spend her time watching TV shows and staying in, whilst her mother requires that she attends a weekly support group with the hope Hazel will explore life, making the most of what she has left. Through attending this support group, however exceedingly tedious, Hazel gets more than she ever bargained for.
On Tuesday I said I’d be posting twice today due to Monday’s blog post being late, so here is the second post for today and I thought I’d do a tag which incorporates learning a little more about myself whilst still on the subject of beauty! I found this at The Make-Up Honey.
Whilst rummaging around my bedroom for something I stumbled upon a hidden gem! Behold a very old yet very exciting find, a make up palette consisting of powder eye-shadows and blusher!
Hello there! So today I have a few purchases to share with you all. My nails are in god awful condition, as pictured further below. They have zero strength, they’re probably just about as bendy as a piece of string and are constantly breaking or splitting. Of course it doesn’t help that I’m a notorious nail biter! Oops, my bad. I do try really hard not to and sometimes I do really well but I always return to the beginning of the cycle each time. Side note, if anybody wants to recommend something to help me not nibble then that would be amazing as nothing I’ve tried in the past has yet worked.
