Happy (almost) March, and likewise, Happy (soon to be) Spring! How is this year going so dang fast, can you enlighten me please?! Anyway, it will officially be the start of Spring on March 20th and so to celebrate this, the theme for this months #BeautiesOnFire is all about it! Lets chase away those Winter blues and get a good ol’ Spring in our step!!
First things first, if you’re unsure as to what the #BeautiesOnFire collaboration is, then please feel free to nerd up on the ins and outs of this here and here, additional posts may be found within those links, too. If you’d like to get involved yourself then we’d love to have you! If you’re getting involved already and are here to add your link, you can find it at the bottom of the post, the same as when Beth hosts this fabulous compilation! Now, lets get to the good stuff!
NOTE: We’re currently in danger of saying goodbye to this collaboration again unless enough interest can be generated. Many were looking to get involved when a relaunch were suggested yet I have yet to see these faces joining in. This months efforts will be assessed and if it doesn’t come good, next months may well be the last. If you love this collaboration as much as I do, then please help save it by getting involved, as for readers only, be sure to share the love with all participants by leaving comments letting us know WHY you love our work. We really do listen to you all and would love to know what you’ve liked or even what could do with tweaking. Your opinion is valued!
As it is, I’ve had an insanely crazy busy time recently, I’m doing so much, getting absolutely no ‘chill time’ and basically I have no idea what the heck I’m running off because it sure ain’t energy since fuel my tanks are dry! I’m plodding on, the Winter is definitely taking it’s toll and I’m in need of a refresher to get going again, who’s with me?! It’s due to this, that I’ve got a little lost with the never ending tasks on my many lists and I completely bypassed the blog and all upcoming posts, meaning of course that I’m playing catch up deadly last minute. Believe me that’s a very hard thing to do with an infant to look after, anyway, my point being is that yes, I’m late with this post! It were meant to go live yesterday, as well as being late with the post itself I had nothing prepared for it and so have decided that I will instead use a past make-up look of mine for today, sharing with you every product used, whilst instead focusing on and centring this post around feeling good and welcoming the brighter months into our lives!
My top 6 Spring Secrets to put a pep in your step!
Surely you’ve heard that a tidy space creates a tidy mind? Honestly, it really does! It absolutely drives me insane having a messy work space or living quarters in general. Having everything clean and tidy makes me feel so refreshed and free, relieves me of tasks to get ticked off of my list and enables me to do what I want with my time without feeling guilty!
You are important and taking out time to really pamper yourself is so beneficial for your health, so go ahead and book yourself in for that treatment you’ve been dying to have, indulge in a facial or your nails doing – you’re worth it!
I think the world and it’s wife knows by now that I have a huge obsession for lists, but seriously they’re amazing little tools! If like me you have an incredibly cluttered mind, get distracted easily or find yourself lacking motivation then they’re especially helpful. A simple list gathers together all of the jumble from your head, gets it out in a nice little tick list and enables you to see just what needs doing, motivating you at the same time. Ticking things off as you go builds momentum and when you’ve got it all crossed off your list you’ll feel an immense sense of achievement, maybe then you’ll allow yourself that bit of pampering mentioned above!
Yes change can be terrifying but it’s also exciting, especially when thinking in terms of a new hair style/colour, some new clothes or switching up your surroundings. Everything feels refreshed and the new energy surrounding everything is instantly a million times more inspiring!
I don’t care how much of a homing pigeon you are, I’ve been one too for my entire life, but GO OUTSIDE. The fresh air will work wonders on you and you’ll generally feel amazing for it. You don’t have to go running, take a hike or do anything radical, just get out, take a little walk, sit out in your garden, anything. You can find something within your comfort zones but just GET SOME DAYLIGHT!
Some of us like to put plans off or be spontaneous and that’s fine, but something I’ve found when you’re having a particularly pants day, week or month is that chatting with a friend and organising actual plans with them makes things seem instantly so much better. It doesn’t matter what those plans are, where they are or for how long, but make them.. Heck, even make plans on your own, plan to explore a new place or embark on a new venture, try out a new hobby. Plans create enthusiasm and excitement, something to look forward to, how can you say no to that?
