The first of two blog posts for this week (yep that’s right, the #BeautiesOnFire post has fallen into this week, too) is the Beauty Bingo challenge with the lovely AyR Galaxy, I’m really loving this challenge so far this year, I feel it’s going really well for me. Jump on in to find out if you feel the same as I!
The rules are simple…
1. Pick your palette – I’ve chosen the Make-Up Revolution London Eyes Like Angels Palette for today’s post.
2. Cut out small paper pieces numbered and lettered according to the columns and rows in your chosen palette.
3. Separate the pieces into rows and columns then proceed to choosing five from each, this will determine your Bingo coordinates! Mine are as follows:
B – C6, R4
I – C5, R2
N – C4, R3
G – C8, R1
O – C3, R2
4. Get creative! You must use all five colours. Extra products can of course be used to perfect the complete look such as eye liner and mascara, so long as the chosen shadows are out to play!
As I were picking out the co-ordinates I first thought I were getting a rather easy ride, until I pulled out the bright blue shade “Aqua Dream” that is, at which point I panicked a little as I wondered how I were going to pull that off without ruining the overall look. Luckily I feel I did rather well with this. I did use ‘Cream’ in the inner corner and on my brow bone, but wanted to use it a little more than that in order for it to not feel like such a cop out, I decided to apply it all over my lid to give the effect of a cut crease look, although I didn’t use sharp lines for it and so it kind of looks a little weird. That’s my only negative with this look I guess, as otherwise I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I’m really enjoying using this palette more again and discovering shades that work extremely well together, honestly, it’s putting the love back into make-up for me, as recently I’ve been feeling rather lacklustre in regards to it all. Another thing I’m enjoying is using eyeshadows as an eyeliner for the top lid as well as the bottom, and even for a winged look! This is something I’d have rarely thought of to do, let alone dare let myself for the fear of utterly failing with it. I adore the fact that certain make-up challenges and collaborations are dragging me out of my comfort zones and enabling me to have so much fun with my creations.
Would you rock this look yourself? Is there anything you’d have done differently? Please do share any of your own looks with myself and Rossy as we’d love to see your talents! Speaking of which, don’t forget to take a peek at the results of Rossy’s February contribution, also!
