It hasn’t escaped my attention that I haven’t shared my favourites with you in quite some time, so lets remedy that now, shall we? Kick starting this with last year! Included in today’s post is a mix of choices, not limited to only cosmetics!
Max Factor Face Finity 3 in 1 Foundation – Beige 55
This little gem featured in my 2016 favourites, too. It certainly is standing the test of time with me, which can only be a good thing and speaks volumes in itself. As I’ve spoke of this many times before, if you’d like to know why this pleases me so much, then please do feel free to read the post ‘Most Loved of 2016: The List in Full’.
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer – Fair 1
This too, remained a favourite once again throughout last year. It has amazing coverage yet doesn’t feel too heavy on the skin, I feel that it sits fantastically well below the under eye area and yet has a delightful drugstore price tag, despite boasting high end quality. Is there anyone who doesn’t love this product?
Collection Primed & Ready Invisible Setting Powder – 01
In the past I’ve picked up any old powder to set my make-up with, usually opting for George Silk Finish. Whilst I’ve had no issues with the Silk Finish, I picked up this Collection powder last year and have to say there is a difference! With my George it added an extra layer of coverage, which is of course perfect if that’s what you’re wanting, but for the under eye area it can become troublesome and cakey. This, on the other hand, doesn’t add extra coverage as it is indeed translucent, perfect for simply setting make-up with and nothing more. Due to this, it’s a very nice light weight product and works wonders for the job it’s intended to do.
Make-Up Revolution London Golden Sugar 2 Palette – Rose Gold
I had every intention of reviewing this little beauty last year, therefore if anyone would like to read something more in depth, see make-up looks using this palette or view swatches etc, then please do let me know and I’ll get to work on it! Until then – last year this palette became my ultimate go to choice for my contour, blush and highlight! I’m obsessed with it still and it’s a part of my everyday make-up routine, when I aren’t going with the bare minimal that is, and I can’t fault it. Having three uses in one makes my routine both quicker and easier, whilst saving space due to the lack of need for multiple palettes and products. The powders are light weight and highly pigmented whilst also buildable – it’s everything!
Urban Decay Naked Smoky Palette
Last year I got into the habit of using the shade ‘Whiskey’ from this palette to fill in my brows, although I did also use this palette more often for my shadow, too. I went through a phase of feeling totally uninspired when it came to my make-up, whilst feeling like utter rubbish during my pregnancy, I simply couldn’t be bothered at all and so stuck to the same look 9/10 times, using this palette to create a very subtle, neutral look, perfect for any and all situations or events. This were my saviour!
George Eye Pigment Palette
Love love love love and LOVE! If you’d like to know why, then you’d be better off reading my post ‘Perfectly Pretty Pigments – A George Cosmetics Review’.
Make-Up Revolution London ‘Amazing’ Lipstick – Nude
Again due to feeling uninspired I chose to stick to the same lip product also, if I even bothered applying anything at all! To make things easy and grabbing the nearest thing to me in order to save myself from rooting in my stash, a nude number from MURL were my victim! Cheap and cheerful, this feels good on the lips and isn’t at all drying. This went with all looks and helped to make me feel a little more put together on the days I needed it the most. No frills, no fuss, but a favourite regardless!
Model’s Own Hyper Eyes Mascara – Black
Another repeat product in my list is the Hyper Eyes mascara, I loved the wand on this because it separated and lengthened my lashes perfectly every time. I don’t feel it’s overly dramatic or full of volume therefore perfect for simpler looks and everyday wear. I found out just before Christmas that this product has now been discontinued and I’m absolutely gutted because of it! I’m now on the lookout for a new favourite due to this so any fellow Hyper Eyes fans especially, please please leave me any recommendations in the comments on this post, I will be eternally grateful!
I’m not usually a lover of Vaseline, I’ve never really seen the point as I typically wear product on my lips, however since having my little girl I’ve really not wanted to… Who wants to leave a huge purple kiss print on their child’s face? Therefore Vaseline has come in handy to dab a little on just to add a touch of shine, somehow making my make-up look appear finished but with minimal effort.
These were hands down the best thing to ever exist whilst I were pregnant through the summer months. They’re light, airy and stretch with your bump!
Another life saver has been wearing snapbacks again, clearly I’m reverting back to my teen years. No, in all fairness, these are a god send! You know those days when you’ve a million things to do and you’re heading out somewhere when your beautiful tiny human decides to poo all up their back, everything is generally going up the creek without a paddle? Yeah well those days are the days you will need a snapback the most! Or any hat, really, though I get way too warm wearing woolly hats and beanies, so these are the perfect essential for me. Who cares if your hair could really do with a wash but you don’t have time to, just bob on the hat and you’re good to go!
‘Hoot Hoot’ Changing Bag
For a full review please head on over to my post ‘The Wonderful World of Kiddies Kingdom!’ I can assure you, you’re going to love this changing bag as much as I do! Whilst I haven’t anything to compare it to based from personal experience, I do know a fantastic bag when I stumble upon one, believe me I’m somewhat a bag connoisseur!
Joie Mirus Scenic 2 in 1 Juva Travel System
Another purchase from Kiddies Kingdom and another absolute god send in my life is my travel system, the Joie Mirus has everything I need for travelling with my little one, the pram is ridiculously lightweight therefore is a joy to navigate. Whilst the storage area underneath could probably be easier to get to and use, it’s the only fault I can find. I’m just obsessed with this, if anything it makes you want to spend all day preparing to get out of the house with the little one just so you can stroll around with the pram!
This final one is maybe an odd thing to include in my favourites as it’s an ante-natal type group! I’m one of those of which are dead set against ante-natal and baby groups but this particular one changed my mind, and I’m damn stubborn so that’s huge thing in itself! This group helped me so much in so many ways, actually, if you’re interested in knowing more about this I’d keep your eyes peeled because I’m going to be knocking up a post entirely dedicated to this group in the near future! Don’t write off groups entirely ladies, you may have your mind altered once you try them out!
One last thing I simply can’t leave out is my decorative glitter pumpkin! This literally only cost £1 yet it makes me really happy inside, yes okay I’m a bit of a saddo… Pumpkins though! Halloween…. Halloween is life! It’s just the cutest little pumpkin and it’s become a year rounder on my desk, who said we can’t have Halloween on Christmas… And every other part of the year?
I’d love to know what your ultimate favourites of 2017 were, so why not leave me a comment below? Do we have any of the above items in common, did you have a recommendation for me based on my choices?
