Introducing the #BeautiesOnFire!
New Year, New Look
Changes in Progress!

It’s been absolutely ages since I were a part of this collaboration now, due to my blogging hiatus, let me tell you I were so utterly exhilarated to be thinking something up again and having a play around with cosmetics to create a new look with! It’s been so long since I’ve been able to create something a little ‘out there’ that of course for this months #BOF theme I decided that I’d rather come up with something of which wouldn’t conform to the ‘norm’ and most definitely isn’t everyday wearable. I wanted to stray a little from simply the ocean and instead thought about the mystical creatures hidden within, what is something that gets a tonne of hype (and especially at the minute) for the bright and incredibly fun colours? Yup – mermaids! I figured what would be a better time than now to have a play with being one myself.

Since I weren’t opting for a wearable look I totally changed up my usual contour routine, using greens and blues from an eyeshadow palette and applying the colour over the top of netting that I’d cut from my shower ball thing (yes I’m evidently fabulous at giving names to items), I were hoping this step would have turned out a little better like it had in my mind but maybe I just need more practice at being a mermaid. I used ocean colours on my eyes and opted for a mermaid tail liner, whilst going bright and bold with my choice of lip colour, using two products of which I hadn’t yet had the chance to. I could have done some things to take the look to a completely different level entirely, but I’m rather pleased with how it all turned out in the end, after all I’ve not been around for a pretty solid time as it is! I did forget to use mascara though which sent me in a bit of a mood with myself, but do feel free to imagine that I’m wearing Model’s Own Hyper Eyes and the P.S, Love Carbon Black Mascara!

  1. I love that you did a mermaid colors kind of look and I love how you did the liner, super creative 🙂
I also thought that lip color was very interesting. I don’t think I’ve seen such a bright blue before 🙂
Can’t wait to see this month’s monochromatic look on you cause you’ve been wanting that theme for a while lol

    1. Thanks chickpea, I’m glad you liked it. Yeah it definitely came out very bright! I’m interested to see how it looks without Stormtrooper on underneath. Monochromatic has just stood out to me more than the other suggestions as being something that I’d have more of an idea what to do with.. I’m definitely glad that it’s been voted for this time around though because I’m throwing in a palette review with it! 😉

    1. Thank you so much Britt, I’m glad you liked it and that you’re happy to see me back! It’s definitely good to be back! I’ve missed this collaboration far too much! 🙁

  2. Welcome back! I really loved the colors you used for the eyes and the little mermaid tail/wing! Sometimes mermaid looks end up a little too bright and intense everywhere, but the pastels aren’t overwhelming and let the tail show up so much more!

    1. Thank you, it’s good to be back! Ahh thank you so much, your comment really means a lot and I’m glad you liked it! I totally know what you mean, I feel like the wing worked out so much better with more toned down colours for the eyes, too. Though in all honesty, I made it all up as I went along! All I really knew is which lipsticks I wanted to dig out and have a play with, I literally winged it with the eyes! 😉
